The Regal
163 Hope Street
Brooklyn, New York

A new Willamsburg favorite, just launched right of the Lorimer stop in Brooklyn. The Regal, brings an affordable hot spot to the area with high quality cocktails curated from its very own batch, of in house aged spirits, placed in miniature wooden barrels above the bar. The team behind the popular lower east side restaurant Hotel Chantelle, partnered up with the old haunt Hope Garage to bring an innovative menu of diner-esq classics such as French onion soup grilled cheese, spanikopita soufflé, jalelepeno creamed corn and chicken and waffles to name a few. With 14 wines by the glass, 10 craft beers on tap, 10 specialty cocktails and 10 classic cocktails with a twist, there is no chance of going thirsty at this place.

Saddled up at the 12 seat granite bar, I enjoyed a delicious dinner here with the husband during an impromptu date night. The service is great, the ambiance is buzzing, and the bartender is a cocktail genius. Check below for some of my recommendations.

567 Union Avenue
Brooklyn, New York

My husband and I had been waiting for this gem of a restaurant to open it’s doors. Snowed in this past weekend, we figured would be the perfect time to literally cross the street from our apartment, and walk over. Figuring, it wouldn’t be too crowded as we had a big snowstorm the day before.

We were wrong on that front. The lofty space was buzzing, but we luckily snagged two seats at the bar… the perfect seats to witness all of the action as the kitchen is open and filled with energy. Everything on the menu sounded delicious.. but we finally narrowed it down and went with two appetizers, two pasta dishes and a dessert, all to share of course. The best way to taste it all.
