Night Time Rituals

Get your most beneficial rest, while beautifying as you sleep. Use those precious hours of rest, to hydrate your skin and wake up with a luminous glow.

I recently discovered this Pearl Sleeping mask by Sephora. It does wonders to plump up your skin and add to a dewy complexion for the A.M.  Apply it to freshly washed damp skin, right before bed to lock in moisture and add hydration.

As a stylist, I feel as though my hands are always dry. To combat this, I swear by using Neutrogena’s Norwegian hand cream. This humectant rich cream, is perfect to apply right before bed as it can be a touch heavy. Let it really work it’s magic by applying a dime size over hands and popping some thick gloves on while you sleep. This allows the cream to fully absorb into your skin.

Up your H2o intake to help hydrate your body from the inside out!

DIY Enzyme Pumpkin Face Mask

One of my all time favorite ways to freshen up my skin, is with an all natural homemade face mask. During the Fall and holiday season, many people have a can of pumpkin purée in the cabinet or some extra, left over from that pie you just made. Heck, wear this mask while your making your pumpkin pie.. Filled with nutrients, this mask will recharge your skin, making it the perfect remedy before a night out or better yet, after that holiday party.

Vitamin C and beta carotene both found in pumpkin will instantly brighten skin as the natural enzyme found in pumpkin will gently exfoliate and slough away dry dull skin that this changing weather be stills on us. Honey will moisturizer and the cinnamon has antibacterial properties to bring this delicious face mask together.

  • 1/4 C. Pumpkin Purée
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • 1 Tsp. Cinnamon

Mix ingredients together and apply to a clean and dry face. Leave on for 10-15 mins, massaging it in for a few seconds before you rinse with warm water. Pat dry.

Lemon Water

Purify and detoxify your body by starting your morning with a hot lemon water. Its a nice way to start your day as it is energizing and mood enhancing. I like to use organic lemons for this so that it is free of pesticides. It aids your body in digestion which is wonderful to kickstart first thing in the a.m. It awakens the liver to start removing toxins, healing the body and boosting the immune system. Vitamin C goes to work brightening the skin as well as fighting wrinkles with added antioxidants.  Heal your body from the inside out with this quick and natural remedy.

Skincare Routine

My go to skin care line has been Murad for a few good years now. Once and awhile, I’ll pop in something new just to shake it up. But I have been loving a couple of these.

My cleansers alternate between the Daily Foaming Cleanser and the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser Depending on how my skin is feeling that day, I choose what to use. Sometimes using both if my skin needs it. The foaming cleanser is great, it removes my makeup but still feels light and rich at the same time. The exfoliant scrub is also fabulous. I use it at least once a week to remove dry skin and unclog my pores. My skin can then absorb my moisturizer better. I recently added in this Rapid Collagen Infusion to help with some fine lines that have popped up. I also find that it is a great product to just refresh my skin and help it appear smoother on days that I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. I swear you can see the difference within minutes. Although I don’t wear it everyday. Sometimes I like my skin to be au natural with just a bit of moisturizer on, I try to go without makeup on my days off. Speaking of moisturizer, I have been loving this Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture, a thick moisturizer that is perfect during this NYC winter we have been having. It absorbs into the skin, smoothing and hydrating as it goes. I change my moisturizer seasonally, switching in something a little lighter as the days get warmer. I would definitely check these out if you are looking to try something new.
