Favorite Energy Snacks

A lesson I learned the tough way, is always bring little snacks to work or on the go, to eat through out the day. A while back, I would eat one meal throughout an 8-10 hour work day, as well as drinking a bunch of coffee. With little energy throughout the day, I would then come home exhausted and just zone out on the couch.

Since, I’ve come to respect my body more and value my energy, as well as understanding that being more attentive and on the peak of my game is being respectful to each client who sits in my chair.

In any given day, I will have my lunch with me, as well as two snacks plus an energy bar or some almonds stashed away for emergencies. Below are some of my favorite quick and inexpensive go-to (and to-go) snacks.

Whole Wheat Toast + Drizzle Red Pepper Olive Oil + Sea Salt +Avocado

Carrots + Peanut Butter

Hummus + Celery

Chia Pudding

Hard Boiled Eggs + Sriracha Sauce

Greek Yogurt + Berries + Cinnamon + Drizzle of Honey

A Day In the Life: Audrey Ong

A few weeks ago, I got to take a peak, inside a day in the life, of Ms. Audrey. This awesome girl does the Public Relations and Social Media for TSE Cashmere as well as having her own blog. I first met Audrey when she had her hair done for a Lucky Magazine blogging event. Since then, her hair has been my canvas.. And we have had fun, taking her from brunette to blonde, and lately to a magical teal balayage.

When her company was shooting their Fall 2016 Lookbook, I went to hang out with Audrey and scope out the scene. TSE Cashmere, designs the highest quality cashmere clothing and their sought after luxe items are modern and redefined. Worn by celebrities alike, the approachable and wearable line is just as in demand for the everyday woman. Their Fall 2016 collection gives a subtle nod to the Space Age, incorporating creative details, such as different textures found on a space suit, and a pallet reminiscent of the earth and space. The silouhettes range from soft and loose to structured and linear.  Creative Director Tina Lutz who designed the line was seamless in her execution of transcending her vision to reality. In love with everything I came across, especially the vision board, it was a great day being behind the scenes with the team at TSE. Check out more of their designs here, as well as Audrey’s blog here.

Smith & Cult

My newest nail obsession, is Smith & Cult. I came across the line, working in the Hampton’s last summer and have been hooked ever since. Their exclusive 5-free formula, is formulated without Dibutyl, Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor, making it a great option to throw into the mix. Admittedly, I will do gel on my nails when I know my schedule will be crazy or I will be traveling, as the longevity is insane. This polish is great to come back to though, as I feel like I can give my nails a break from a lot of the added chemicals found in other polish lines. The packaging is super cute, and although the nail polish top is a bit heavy, it actually makes it easy to apply the polish. The durability is great, and I am usually able to get a good two weeks out of a manicure.. that says a whole lot, being that my hands are always in water.

A bit of a splurge at $18 a pop, it’s totally worth it for the great coverage, shine and 5-free formula. With it’s playful names, Stockholm Syndrome has been my go-to color as of lately. I’m going to to add the Kundalini Hustle, a fun poppy red, into the rotation soon! Check all of the shades out here.
